Attendance Reminders

The state of Texas imposes the following attendance laws that we enforce:
  1. 90% Rule - Students must be present for at least 90% of instruction for the school year. Your child(ren)'s attendance will be closely monitored to make sure he/she meets this requirement. If your child(ren) miss more than the allowed 10%, he/she will be required to attend summer school to recover lost time.
  2. Unexcused Absences - Students with multiple unexcused absences are subject to disciplinary action, and parents are subject to truancy prevention methods.
*Remember, if your child is absent, send an excuse note, or call the office. We must have written communication from a parent/guardian in order to excuse your child's absences.

Dismissal Reminders

Parents/Guardians:

Today was a GREAT first day back to school!  Thank you for having your children to school on time!

Please see the reminders below to ensure a smooth dismissal process:
-If you are changing the way your child goes home, please call the office by 3:00 pm.  
-Students will not be released to parents in the car line if you walk up.  Parents must be in their vehicle in the line in order to pick up car riders.
-If your child is a car rider, make sure your child's name is visible on the car tag in the windshield of your vehicle.  If you don't have a tag, it should be in your child's folder today.
-If your child is a bus rider, please do not show up in the car line expecting to get them off the bus.  

Thank you for helping us run a smooth dismissal throughout the school year by adhering to these guidelines.  We appreciate your partnership!

Backpacks and School Supplies For All Elem. Students

Due to an overwhelming response from supporters near and far, all Elementary students can receive backpacks and school supplies at Meet the Teacher night. All backpacks will be in your child's classroom for him/her to select that evening.
Of course, if you still wish to purchase backpacks and supplies for your child(ren), please do so.

We are very appreciative of all our donors from all over the state for helping us provide this for our students!

If you haven't registered your student online for the upcoming school year, you will need to pick up a registration packet at the Elementary Office.  Please see the schedule below for dates and times to pick up your registration packet(s).  Thank you for taking care of this before Meet the Teacher on August 11th.

Cell Phone Guidance

Informational flyer from Center Point I.S.D. about cell phone use changes in schools with an illustrated pirate and no phone symbols. Transcribed Text: A new Texas Law, House Bill 1481, will take effect starting with the 2025 - 2026 School Year, and it brings important changes to how students can use cell phones during the day. WHAT THE LAW SAYS STUDENTS MAY NOT USE PERSONAL COMMUNICATION DEVICES (CELL PHONES, TABLETS, SMARTWATCHES) DURING THE INSTRUCTIONAL DAY (BELL TO BELL), AND SCHOOLS MUST ADOPT AND ENFORCE POLICIES THAT PROHIBIT DEVICE USE DURING LEARNING TIME. WHAT CPISD IS DOING STUDENTS AT CENTER POINT ISD MAY BRING THEIR DEVICES TO SCHOOL BUT THEY MUST BE TURNED OFF AND STORED AWAY DURING THE ENTIRE SCHOOL DAY.
